In addition to adults, Family
Optometry of Tracy prides itself in examining children
of all ages, including infants (6 months and older),
toddlers, and teens. We
provide evaluations for spectacle and contact lens prescriptions,
peripheral vision, intraocular pressure, and eye health.
Our computerized examination instruments are used to
supplement rather than replace personalized care.
Our primary eyecare examination
is a comprehensive evaluation of the entire visual system
and eye health. The exam includes tests for eye teaming,
tracking, coordination, depth perception, glaucoma,
cataracts, and macular degeneration. In addition, we
can determine ocular effects of general health disorders
such as diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure.
A dilated pupil examination is recommended for all our
patients to ensure total eye health care.
The
American Optometric Association (AOA) recommends a comprehensive
eye examination every one to two years depending on
age and health. We recommend an annual exam for all
patients, especially those wearing contact lenses.
